Recently concluded 21st Commonwealth Games in Australia’s Gold Coast showed some real skills of the sporting spirit came from different parts of the world. In total, more than 6,600 athletes from 71 nations participated in the event and they made history in just 11 days unforgettable world-class sporting action.
The best thing is that this is for the first time in the history of such a mega multi-sports event where the medal tally for men and women across all the sports were same. On the top of that GC2018 has also got the largest integrated sports program in the history of Commonwealth Games, including 18 sports and 7 para-sports.
29 countries claimed gold and 5 countries were there who won their first medals during the game. Australia topped the medal tally board with England in the second and India being the third highest country to bag 66 medals in total (26 G, 20 S, 20 B).
